History
In 1987, Mr Mazher Hussain Tawawalla launched his practice in Karachi as an independent consultant in software development and computer systems. In 1990, he formally established HT Consultants (HTC) and began working in Business Development and Risk Management. With over 40 years of experience, HTC has participated in projects worldwide in various disciplines and organisations, both national and international.
What We Do
HTC is a consulting and research firm specialising in using a holistic and multi-faceted approach to problem-solving. Therefore, we present a range of options and recommend the path that would ultimately lead our clients to improved performance. In other words, we focus on finding the critical path in solving challenging problems, developing successful strategies, building effective institutions, creating efficient delivery mechanisms and utilising technology for performance enhancement. That is why we work on facts/data and emphasise the need for systems and integration and hence, our solutions remain holistic, scalable and relevant over the years.
Furthermore, HTC offers expertise in Programming, Monitoring, Evaluation, Impact Assessment, Applied Research, Large‐volume data & knowledge management, Project and Programme Management, Development strategy, Institutional and Organisational development. The company has completed 138 domestic and international assignments, 82 (60%) of which Mr Tawawalla took on a leadership role.

HTC's main focus lies in the commercial and non-profit sectors. Since 1987, HTC's core team and consultants have served many key organisations and institutions within these sectors. However, our services target fundamental management issues prevalent in all industries, improving our clients' various business and development initiatives. Our core staff and consultants have extensive experience working in these sectors, significant to our clientele.
Geographic Coverage
HTC's work has generally geographically concentrated within Pakistan, including the four provinces, Islamabad Capital Territory, the Gilgit-Baltistan region and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. However, over the years, HTC (sometimes Mr Tawawalla as an individual) has participated in projects conducted in The Netherlands, UAE, Jordan, Hong Kong, SAARC (Afghanistan, Bhutan, Sri Lanka), Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam.
